Spreading filler is an art that takes practice. The keys to simplifying filler work is the following: 1. Get the metal as straight as possible. The better the metal work the easier the filler work 2. A nice smooth, even spread of filler is best 3. Timing when you sand is key. The longer it sits the harder it gets.
