Suspected DUI Driver Kills Man in Spring Valley Crash SPRING VALLEY, Calif. — A suspected DUI crash late Friday night left one man dead and another person injured in Spring Valley. According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on February 13, 2026, at approximately 10:41 p.m. along westbound Jamacha Boulevard, east of San Diego Street. Investigators say a 29-year-old man was driving a 2020 Nissan Rogue at a high rate of speed when the SUV crossed over the double yellow lines

In 2024, the San Diego County Supervisors approved the construction of sleeping cabins in the Spring Valley community and to develop a recreational vehicle site in an unincorporated area near Lakeside. According to the plan, 150 cabins will be built at 8534 Jamacha Road, near State Route 125, on land the county will lease from the California State Department of Transportation.
