“A Geansaí” – the word for a jumper still used in Branch, Newfoundland Here is a Bride O’Rourke from Branch, Newfoundland telling me back in 2019 how they called a fisherman’s jumper, a geansaí. Bride’s people all came from Wexford and Waterford and it went over to her community in Newfoundland via us Irish.
