In the 1996 film Matilda, the scene where Miss Trunchbull throws Amanda Thripp by her hair was filmed using a specialized harness and wires hidden inside reinforced pigtails. The young actress actually swung through the air on a crane-like rig to achieve the effect, though she wore a safety suit and landed safely on padded mats.
