PHOENIX (AZFamily) —A California man is facing federal charges after investigators say he sent messages to the family of Nancy Guthrie, posing as the suspected abductor in the disappearance case.

Chilling details regarding a ransom note in Savannah Guthrie’s mom Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance have been disclosed. FBI Phoenix’s special agent Heith Janke shared the note set a deadline for 5 p.m.

The FBI said that the ransom note they are investigating in relation to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of "TODAY" co-host Savannah Guthrie, gave a deadline of 5 p.m. on February 5.
